No The paper wasn’t so difficult. Its only because the post were many. N normally cut-offs lies around these marks only.
how many posts were there Bhavya ?? so what will be the cut of for UCO Bank ? when the result is suppose to come ?
initially it was 750 around but finally it went to 1560..then latest they published another list of 200 or more po.
great this means i have a fair chance.

5. For me only location matters as if i become PO i dont want any promotions etc. but want rural ares ( Himachal)
6. Bank of Baroda which filling up an online form asked 3 preffered locations. my were 1. Himachal 2. J&K 3. Uttaranchal so will they post me there ??

3)jaha posting denge wohi karna hoga..rural,urban,metro,forest,tip of mountain me v…but if u said in intrvw that u like to serve in rural then they might give you rural posting..now days max posting is in rural.

5)no idea..himachal me posting may possible but luck matters.
6)is mainly applicble on availibilty of vacancy and rank in your state..gut generally it follows..preference 3 tak aata nahi hay..1,2 me hota hai max.

7. See i am Himachali & from a place which is nearly snow covered with Snow for 6-7 months. I did my MBA from University Of Michigan, ANN ARBOUR which is one of the coldest college town on the mother earth !!! i am giving these bank exams because i want to live in rural Himachal & work for them. my uncle is a manager in SBI so he told me to prepare for the banks as He said that you can easily opt for Himachal, as a deficient state no body want to stay there & HR people will give you easily. after you complete your initial 2 years .

listen, on 17th April i had appeared for the Uttaranchal Gramin Bank exam, for officers. i travelled all the way 3400km MUMBAI – DEHRADUN – MUMBAI just to appear in the exam. the guy whos in the same class said that in this bank all the vacancies are already filled he said ” jisko job milne wala hai unko woh mil chuka hai”
here they will not take you they will only take local people. is it true ?? if yes then whats the use of these exams ???
gramin bank me ghotalaa hota hai..aisa maine suna tha.par ab mujhe yakeen hoa gaya..so i havent appear any of them to waste my paisa.but that was in clerical cadre.but u appeared in officer cadre .i dont think its fixed or they take only regional people.but ya, the regionl people will get extra advntg or preference than you.
bob po posting will b done in their choice last yr i heard many didnt got placement in their preference state.so better prepare for serving india than hp.even if they offer me hp i will khusi khusi accept that..why?

Itz a lil late 4 reply but can’t resist myself cz finally found one person who thinks in th same wavelength as mine :clap_tb: Well me too apearing 4 th Bank exams just cz of ths 1 reason, that I wl get a posting in a remote hill station whr nobody wl want 2 go :biggrin_wp: In all interviews am mentioning that I wl b glad if I can get a posting in Hill areas n I dnt mind if I’m th only staff 2 b posted thr 2 handle th branch.

uco bank may came in may..1st week..uco cut off will b a record interms of bank exams cut off..it will b significantly..low..than expected..qstn aisa tha k mere room me jaha 60 people exam dene baithe the,,at the time of decriptive only 15 remain,,baki left..
I think u r obc …..only thing u dont hav certifct…u might hav thought rather than wasting time in collecting documents 4 that,u prefferd to study and get in seat in open also

i am my center in Mumbai there were 30 seats out of which nearly half of the candidates were absent. i noticed faces after the objective & realised that most of them had hard time in the exam. i wrote descriptive from the best of my capacity…those who score ( can score) high in UCO might get selected in any other bank before UCO final result out. that means UCO joining cut off will be really low.

hey in my class there were 30 seats out of which half seats were empty ( absent). after objective i glanced through the class & noticed that everyone was shocked with the paper as most of them travelled all the parts of Maharashtra to give this exam. i wrote discriptive from the best of my capacity.
yes you are right those talented folks who may score high in UCO exam will get joining in other banks like BOI, VIJAYA, OBC, INDIAN, UNION , CORPBANK etc. they dont have to wait untill UCO.

its not like that
in the common bank test suppose one person is placed in the final list then his card will be blocked whether he is willing to join or not that bank….
and he can apply against the vacancies untill he gets final selection, once finally selected he wont be able to appear for other banks processes….
and one more thing …..the banks will decide a certain criteria for their selection suppose gud banks advertising 200 vacancies in that case they will ask IBPS to give the list of 600 persons who scored above certain percentage of marks say overall 60%…..
but this doesnt gurantees selection for the tier II candidates. CET has been implemented not for reducing the overlapping but to reduce the process time and increase efficiency of the selection process….

10 Reasons Why Not To Join Bank as Probationary Officers (PO) ?
I know It may hurt many of aspirant who are preparing for Bank PO exam. My statement doesn’t mean to hurt any one preparation or confidence. In personal opinion I just want to say that If you think You are qualified, Bank PO is not the right choice. You may go for some other option If available. Don’t have BankPO as your first career choice.
Being a Banking professional, there are certain thing which I analysed during my past experience with premier Nationalised Bank, where I joined as a Bank PO after doing MBA having Prior experience with some premier IT company in India.
1. You will be posted to various branches irrespective of your qualification or experience
2. You will be given 5-7 days training which is as good as your class lecture of BE or MBA or graduation.
3. After training period you will be posted to branch directly, where you will be assigned work depends on the nature of managers or size of branches.
4. If branch is small it is possible (maximum case I had seen it is under practice in many branches) that you will be asked to handle cash counter (Don’t think it’s a clerk job) or sometime the cash officer table where you will be making DD/PO or if you are lucky you will be asked to make Fixed Deposit (Which is also very Irritating, Since customer mainly senior citizen will eat your all experience and qualification while filling 15G/15H form).
5. DOn’t think you will be given training or in branch you will be given previlege of new joinee. Manager will tell you something like “It’s onjob training, You will have to learn it by youself”. In true sense he/she itself doesn’t know anything about system or banking.
6. Very Important thing If you had done any mistake, You will be penalised. Everyone says 1% human error acceptable but in Banking 1% error means loss of your one month or more hard earning salary. In banking penalty is directly proportional to monetry loss. You did mistake , You will pay the loss.
7. In true sense you will never learn anything from your old collegues, infactbank will extract everything from you.
8. While doing work, it is said that you will have to work, while asking for benefit, you will be asked to show the experiences of 5 years.
9. At very first day of job you will be given the keys of the branch, in nationalised bank branch keys must be kept by officers and being a new officer you will be trained to keep the keys of bank’s gate. Sometime it happens that you need to open the gate of banks or other works.
10. You don’t think that in Bank you will be like a king. Even attender deny you to do any work of you and You are helpless to do anything.
There are many other thing also which are required to do as an officers in Bank. It is my suggestion to you think before joining as a bank officer. I will discuss other experiences also on regular basis. Keep in touch.

1.When fake not comes and u r handling cash counter
1.at EOD the cash is mismatching means i need to settle it to pay from your pocket.

in the starting or during the time of your probation u will have to learn each and every process so you have to these tasks as you have mentioned above….
but after completion of your probation you will be assigned a specific segment such as Loan or others.. so at that time you wont face such problems ….
the biggest problem i see is the only timings because as an officer you wont have fixed time.. a clerk can leave after completing his daily work but as an officer you have to wait until the balance sheet is matched and branch is closed….

interview marks will b counted only for those who had cleard written nd filed rti for not getting into final list…

One more question. Is it necessary for the board to give at least 50% marks to all the candidates who appear for the interview.I mean is there any obligation on their part or not to at least pass the candidates.
its not a rule but it happens in 90% case..by appearing before board and giving any answer get 50% marks.i never seen anyone below that intervw.even i havent seen below 60% mark.but if u dont know local language in clerk exam u will b fail in intervw.

yes u r overqualified for clerk job where hs pass is elligibility..they might think that u may not continue to do clerk job for this bank long time as u hav higher qualification.it will b a loss for bank if u leave.so 90% of ur selection will b dependant on your answer to the question they will ask -being mba why in clerk job?
prepare this answer very well and to the point..if u didnt satisfied them with answer you will almost gone..

any idea about the cut off for general category students in the Bank of Baroda po exam held on 13th march…..
may b 150 in 275..or less than that for gen..i think.same like last year or may less than that as qstn was tough in certain parts than last year.
thanks for the reply friend but my opinion is it would be around 138 to 140 for general…i’m saying this because exams like CBI had 50% cut off with far less number of seats and CBI was the exam from when the pattern of paper started to change gradually (although i didn’t take the exam..i heard it)…now i think everyone would agree that BoB paper was way way tough than CBI…infact what i felt it was the second toughest exam along with United after UCO which was the toughest…so my logic says cut off wont cross 140 ..also since high chances of seats being increased by another 300 as per their advertisement.
first of all cbi took 1750 po s.u r wrong..so cut off went low..but bob po is far easy than uco..united is easier.so its cut off will b like last yr.i really feels.
okay…i might have been wrong regarding CBI thing…but BoB was definitely tougher than united ,BoB would come after UCO in toughness.what do you say friend….and how was Allahabad..what could be the cut off for Allahabad (general)..and yeah BoB cut off by all probabilities will be less than last years 149…

but i have heard that bob po last yr qstn and this yr qstn is same.2 parts were tough last time,and this time also 2 parts.same its equal naa.
hmmm…but this time i found english to be a bit tough also …i mean time consuming and confusing..specially RC questions.so reas,english,cut off will go low for sure…and maths also a tad higher than last year…marketing this year was definitely easy although i didn’t see last years mktng as i did not take the exam then…regarding GA i think this years GA was a bit easy as compared to last years ..this year tough sections include Reasoning,maths and english…

yeah you are right…but have you noticed one thing that number of candidates appearing are getting less day by day as many of them got job in different banks…from BoB and more recently in Allahabad i saw that there are many absentees in my room even after considering that BoB clerical and Allahabad PO were on the same day….. by the way whats your thought regarding Allahabad cut off.how much do you think will be the Allahabad cut off.
