Sorry to say but as per the paper the merit will be very high so 110 out of 200 will not do this time, syndicate bank po paper was one of the easy papers so you should have done at least 180, this is at least.

hi admin,i have a very good suggestion for you,,the in each gk set you give 20 guestions.In all the questions 4 options are given,please dont give options when question is a fact,for example if the qustion is “who scored 1st double century in one day cricket recently”?then dont give 4 options.The question should be represented as fact and the fact should be like that.”schin tendulkar made ist double century recently”.please follow this pattern these types of facts are very easy to remember.thanks i hope you understand and the next set of gk will look like facts.

Thanx so much that you took some intrest in giving suggestion,as you saying that there should be no option but in exams you always have options and you should always practice from the options so that a habit is developed to choose from option. Moreover i do give confusing options so that the student should be prepared for questions in the exam which have similar or resembling options and he should remember the correct option from them.
Still i keep your advice in consideration and post some sets as per you said. AND 1 THINK MORE, SUGGESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Sorry Dharm, but this time after watching level of difficuilty of the paper i dont think that 140 of 200 will take you to next round, you yourself have come across many students who have attempted 170 180 easily so the merit will gonna be too high

good job preity, this time i think gk will make edge for the selection. you hold good chances, but you never know as this is easy paper and many students have scored 50 of 50 in reasoning and quanti, but gk was tough and will surely give edge.

I hve scored total 193 (res-50 quant-50, comp48 gk 45)but in gk I am hardly reaching to 30 right question as I am working as a Asistant manager in cici bank and I have not gone throug the current affairs mag.
But rest are quite good

In this bank po exam, the main difference will be created by gk section and the merit will be on the basis of gk, but as you are saying that you hardly reach 30 ans so the score will bw near to 25, which is quite less. Are you sure that your gk score is around 25????
because if somehow it reaches 32-35 then you will make it to the next round

yes m talking about the overall score, if u would have got somewhere around 180 then you had chances to clear it

yes there is sectional cut of for all sections, and english section was just qualifying

yes agreed but considring 25 marks in gk I am reaching near about 150-155 (>75 %)
ANd i think it is sufficient for clearing bank po exam as sheats are 1000.
paper of bob was also quit easy and some of my friend who had attempted 80 % gota call for interview in general cat.
so 75 % is quite good i think

First of all congrates to admin for creating such a useful blog,I am the first time visitor of this web.
Regarding the ongoing discussion ,let me tell you all one thing very categorically that any body who is going to score more then 60% of overall marks will be surely through for next round….120 out of 200 is not at all bad score and…(sectional cutoffs should be considered…)..180 out off 200, pardon me is too high for PO exam….. its 90%.. whatever will be the degree of toughness… 90% is very high…. in addition to this… 1000 seats….
so according to me … 120-130 will be the cutoff for this exam.. +5,-5 but overall will be in this range only…..and if you want to immune yourself from interview just score…150+ interview will be formality…

First of all very warm welcome from our side
I think that this is one of the most easiest papers for bank po, rether reasoning and aptitude was of clerical level. Only GK section took off the confidence from many guys otherwise all other section was simply attemptable. Moreover if you yourself have given the exam then you could conclude that time was not a problem in this bank po exam. So i think merit will be very high as compared to other exams. Rest only god knows, and will be more clear when results will be declared :p

well very rightly said by u, as 180+ is un expected..one shud also consider d lower limit not d upper limit only..infact in BOB exam..145 was d cutof for general candidates..d syndicate paper level i think, somewat tuf den bob..coz of ga nd english section..so cut of wud b definetly around.125-130….

I’m completely agree what Deep is saying. This was my second Bank po exam(First ne was Central bank of India) I’m getting 28 in GK, 48 in Computers. I attempted 40 in English, 42 in Reasoning and 47 in Quant. My attempt was almost same in Central bank of India. I found both the paper of same difficulty level. Quant, Reasoning and English is always very easy in Bank po exams as I’ve seen some previous papers. Well, about GK one has to study PD and GK today of last 4 months before the exam and go through these kind of sites .

I am damp sure cut of will be around 145-150. Even the guys who score almost 45-50 in quant & reasoning are not in safe side bcoz these guys have also done gk on tukkas. let us take an ex. if they have done 40 in gk. they need to got right atleast 24 questions in gk. Believe me it is not easy as we are seeing the right answers now tell me how many of you know full form of ifrs/solo ,Barcelona open, Tea plant in hp, wasteland management.As most of the candidates have gone with tukkas which will make them cry.As i have talked with many candiadates at chd centre all are crying of gk.Best of luck to all who have scored at least 26 right in gk and 125+ in remaining sections.

What i believe is English paper can only be cleared by those who have attempted the passages because grammar was very tough and to my experience 35% of the candidate wont be clearing GK or English cutoff. SO everyone in this blog is going to clear this paper if all of you saying true. SO just relax 120 is more than enough for any paper in this country for bank PO exam.

My dear friends,Please give urself a chance to access that there is basic difference between attempting a Q and making that right,if you just take the example of reasoning section which is most easy as par discussion, how many of you are sure about assertion based Qs they were tricky one.. and perception differ from person to person…. in fact let me tell you English was the most tough section of this season.. even it was tougher as camapre to GK section.. i used to take 15-20 mnts to solve all 50 Qs of this section bt this time even it was qualifying i spend 30 mnts on that…para jumble was so parplaxed that it took me 10 mnts to solve that.GK was OK not very tough.. if you are reguler reader of PD then almost 80% covered, but Qs as mentioned by dibyakanti were hard to answere,maths was easy i agree..45+ achievable…I m a B Tech. and found Comp. very easy.. but even in that section to..5-10 Qs i just attempted by my sixth sense.
So slew of thoughts…. in my view….130/200 u r secured.. for next section….english and not the gk will be show stopper….and let me tell you all..it was toughest in recent time..

Hi guys, i totally agree with dibya. Most of the guys take risk by spending just 15-20 mins on english.I want to make clear to u people please never touch arrnagment of sentences in english as it always sucks 10-12 mins. even then we don’t sure about it.Thank god i have done 45 in english.

What r my chances admin…
From my past experience, I can surely say that the cutoff marks for syndicate bank po will not exceed than 115-120.
Because although quant and reasoning r easy but GA and ENG was of good level.
In BOB PO the cutoff marks was about 52% only .
In CORPORATION BANK PO exam the cutoff marks was 65%(196 marks out of 300 for general), for only 40 seats in general category . ( I got this information by RTI act )
So the cutoff marks decreases when the number of seats increases .
I have cleared the written examination of IDBI po, BOI PO , SBI associats po and BOB PO .
I attempted all questions in syndicate bank po exam i.e. 250 out of 250.
In all attempted questions I may get the marks as
Quant = 40
reasoning = 40
GA = 25
comp = 35
my overall score is 140 , so I hope I will qualify for interview call.

there is just one way to know the exact cut off for any bank po exam or any other bank exam. You should file an RTI on the board which has conducted the exam and they will provide you with ecact cut off for the desired bank exam

i think you should have attempted more questions from gk section. Usually all questions we do are not correct and if it goes less that even 26 marks then will be a problem and you will not be able to get a call. but even 26 is also less attempt in any section

attempts are pretty good, rest all depends on your accuracy. The % accuracy you mentioned here is enough i think. I already told every1 that at least 180 questions should be attempted in this bank exam. I think if your accuracy mentioned here is exact then you have chances to get pass to 2nd round i.e. Interview

I HAVE A INFORMATION REGARDING CUT OFF MARKS OF ALLAHABAD BANK PO 2010 {RTI} MATHS 21, RES 24, GS 17, ENG 20, COM 20,OVERALL CUTOFF FOR INTERVIEW CALL IS 177 THAT IS ONLY 59%.ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION THAT THE LEVEL OF THAT VERY EXM IS VERY LOW WITH LOTS OF TIME THAT IS 3 HRS.IF IN THIS TYPE OF DIFFUCLTY THE CUTOFF IS 59% THEN WE CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE CUT OF MARKS FOR CENTRAL& SYNDICATE PO.

Syndicate bank me 2.5 hours me 250 qstn the… avg to dono ka 1 ghante me 100 qstn he hai na… to kum se kum is base pe to dono ko compare nahi kar sakte

my attempt is qt 40 with 95% accuracy rens 42 with 90% accurancy & english 35 attempt with 85% accuracy & Ga the score will be between 30-32 after deduction of negative marks ,which i calculated after going through the aforesaid mention question
& in computer i will certainly get above 40
overall i am expecting around 140-150…what is my chace

first of i want to thank u all peoples for giving ur view on probatinary officer examination….. but views given by we all may not be enoungh to draw any conclusion about what will be the cutoff…. thouth the paper was easy but i think the ga & english was not so easy. futher more accuracy is main factor … most peoples appeared 180 question and they write 90% accurancy it mean they will get around 162 write question futher after deduction they will be getting 157 thus as per my view the cut off would be around 130-140

I have a query that is it necessory to score high in every section? suppose i scored low in one section (but qualified)and high in another section.this wil do for me or not?pls ans my query…

you just have to clear individual cut off for every subject first, after clearing cut off merit list is prepared which is irrespective of individual subject, so if you score high in one and low in other then you can consider that you can be one of the bank exam cracker.
well…regarding cutoff….overall cutoff might be on higher side..coz some of the sections were very easy, like Computers and Reasoning..but bear in mind that not all ppl scores in all the sections…many ppl tend to comfortable with maths or reasoning..but not with GK and English…regarding english…it was very tough if u consider general PO exams…
And talking about that cutoff would be around 180????????
its not possible…180 is possible only if you add the best performances given by any candidate in each section…dun worry..65% attempt with 90% accuracy in more then enough…bast of luck to all…carry on this discussion..its useful..

REGARDING QUESTION NO. 46 HERE ,I DONT THINK THERE WAS A MENTION ABOUT SAARC,INFACT INDIA DIDNT ESTABLISH HOTLINE BETWEEN PRIME-MINISTERS OFFICE OF ANY SAARC COUNTRY,INSTEAD IT WAS WITH CHINA.

Well reading above comments it seems many has done very well.
But i guess if you have your score above or around 130 will get a call.
This was my first Bank PO exam, i just concentrated on attempting 60 % questions with good accuracy, but i could only attempt only 50% questions in General Awareness section.
My attempts were
Reasoning – 35(90-95 % accuracy)
Quant – 32(90-95 % accuracy)
GS – 25(80-85 % accuracy)
Computer – 35(90-95 % accuracy)
English – 30(80 % accuracy)
I know i don’t stand much of a chance.
I have also filled Bank Of India PO form.
When do you think result of Syndicate PO exam will be out ?

it was ur first po examination so it happen but you are a good student u have done well at ur level u will get po job later …. but remember never give up and keep practising i have practising for last 6 month

great going seems a great thread to me, new to this thread, so expressing my nascent views, i dont think 170 or more can ever be a cut off, it cannot be in any case, i have cleared all the competitive exams and based on experience i can say that cut off would be around 120 – 130 in worst case max to 140 but cant be more.

after getting selected in SBI associate as a PO and interview call for SBI main… also got interview call for canara bank… which is better SBI asso or canara bank… to choose one if m selected in canara bank also as a PO?

Without any pinch of hesitation, you should go for SBI Asso. , SBI is the best of all, facilities are numerous and many more. No doubt SBI should be your preference. Its just my suggestion, decision is upto you.

If i have 2 choices with me, 1 SBI associate po job, and other Canara or any other bank po job, then i will surely go for SBI Associate, and most of bank exam aspirants will agree with me.

lic ado job profile seems to me more appealing challenging and interesting than that of bank po….coz incentives are very high in lic…….though the basic salary is lower than that of bank po……..which one sud i opt????

I was wondering of Syndicate Bank PO as everyone is jostleing with it.
Like rest said English was quite tough in Syn PO as compared to other bank exams of 2010. Dont know abt the cut off individually but in my views, ENglish wont fetc more then 22/23 ..as and in GA cut off will be nearly 25/ 27..
